The Warm-up

Obvious traverse (l.-r.) across the face. Sit start on jug, follow seam to end, then throw lunge to the top.

From the NCCC Guide: "Grab a good edge in the middle of the face and reach to a sidepull  on impeccable rock. Finish straight up without getting tangled in the tree." The holds are pretty obvious, the hardest part is getting feet established and moving into the sidepull.

On the sharp northwest arete is a simple line that starts low and goes up and over the top, where The Bisher Traverse aka The Lightning ends.

The grade is an estimate, as I've only done it once. Worth a look if you're looking around for something to do and the testpieces are out of your league.

A short and funky problem that climbs out from below an undercut on the southwest face. Begin from a sit and pull yourself up onto the sloping ramp. The trick on this one is finding the right center of gravity and balance point so that you can quickly reach for and grab a higher and better hold. From there, pull up and over.

This problem is funkolicious and good for laugh every time I visit. I still haven't seen anyone onsight this entertaining little gem. Then again, most people skip problems like this one, so whatever. For what its worth, have fun with it.

This is a fun endeavor on the west face of The Warm-up Boulder halfway between the

NW Arete

and the

SW Face

. Look for the vertical seam 8 feet up and you've got it.

Start on good holds at head height or so, and ascend the layback seam to a possible mantel finish. This one probably goes from a sds but at a much harder clip than the rest of the problem, so I've given it a rating for the stand-up version.

The Perch

arete, traverse from small crimps up and right across the wave-like face. Awkward!

Maybe just a little right of center on the north face of The Warmup Boulder is a series of good, sometimes sloping, edges heading straight up and over. Climb straight to the top.

This is another good warm-up.

Just right of the northeast corner of the Warmup Boulder is THE WARMUP at the 420s. This problem starts low just right of

The Perch

and ascends perfect edges straight out the north overhang.

The grade is just an estimate, the quality rating is right on. Always a blast, no matter who you are or how hard you pull down.
