This route goes up the large slabby West face of the Tombstone, just left of the climb Turtle Days.  There are 2 climbs on the face...this is the left route

This 2-pitch route on the north face begins about 50 m below and west of The Tombstone. Scrambling down the boulder-strewn gully is tedious but the climbing is worth the effort. The moderate first pitch ascends a finger / hand crack and ends on a ledge. The 2nd pitch requires technical face, finger / hand crack, and offwidth climbing skills. The offwidth flared crack section (crux) entails sustained movement over two bulges. The flared crack can be protected with #3 - #4.5 cams that aren't too difficult to place. This climb was originally rated in the "10d offwidth doesn't get enough repect" category.

The first pitch (5.9) of this three pitch climb on the north face of the Tombstone is only about 20' long. Begin in a diagonal finger crack adjacent to a narrow and discontinuous ramp. Climb to a two bolt belay. The second pitch (5.11+ s) on the slightly overhanging portion of the wall is sustained and difficult from the onset. A fixed copperhead protects moves to a bolt (1/4") and then three more fixed copperheads in a seam lead to a nice finger crack about 10' from the bolt. The fourth copperhead is very loose; don't bother clipping it. The climbing eases to a ledge at the base of a cave-like depression where the second pitch ends. The third pitch (5.10) climbs out of the depression onto a grainy face / slab protected by two bolts (1/4") to the top of the Tombstone. From the top, downclimb to a bolted anchor (1/4" bolts) on the east end that is used for Heaven Can Wait and The S Cracker. One 60 m rope is sufficient to reach the ground.

The obvious S shaped crack on the east side of the Tombstone.  If you follow the standard approach along the west side of the Grey Giant, this route will be just out of view on the left flank of the Tombstone.Climb up easy rock to a bolt, then move right into the crack.  Set some thin gear for a sequency, traversing crux.  Soon the crack angles straight up and eases a bit, but a second crux comes near the top: thin laybacking with tricky gear on perfect rock.  A compelling line, with strenuous climbing and technical gear.  I didn't lead this, but felt it was _PG_ at the crux.  An excellent climb, and a hard lead for the grade.Same rickety old anchor as noted in the other route descriptions.

This is a finger crack on the sunny south face of the Tombstone.  It starts near some trees a short ways left of the S Cracker in a very clean, left leaning corner.Climb the low angle lieback corner, then follow a steep and fairly continuous crack 70' on good rock.  This is a great route in a very nice, out of the way location.  The original two bolt anchor needs replacing.

This is the right of 2 routes on the large slabby west face of The Tombstone. Friction up to a bolt, then up cracks and flakes to a stance; continue above past a few bolts to one last step section with another bolt.
