Best pocket route of its grade in the Catalinas. The hardest part about this route is settling on which jugs to use. A low crux gives way to shamefully large pockets on the upper face. 

  With a standard rack it is possible to continue up from the slab left of the anchors. Climb the bulge, then left, then up through bulges to the "high-point" anchors on the pinnacle. A single 70M rope will get you back to your pack. Might be a good idea to bring extra webbing for the anchor.

A long, fun adventure pitch with a cool overhanging crack and a great view from the top of the tower.  Below the ledge of Pocket Protector, climb up to the double cracks that lead to the overhang. Locks and jugs out the roof and over the lip into the pod rest. Continue up the right facing crack above (optional belay), then make your way left into the easy crack system of the original route. Wise use of runners will help with drag. Follow this to a bolted belay station next to a bush; may need new webbing. 

  Rap to the base with a 70M, or to Pocket Protector's anchors with a 60M.

Looking up it's easy to see where the crux is, a wide crack traversing a roof. Climb the corner system dividing the east face.

Start on the far right side of the east face of Trundle pinnacle, in front of a shapely oak. Climb through overlaps to steep pockets. On the upper face the route was bolted to climb left under the lip for an interesting finish, though most parties will go straight up. 

Begin in a low-angle corner then transition onto the overhanging knife-edge, encountering committing and powerful moves before gaining a series of ledges. Proceed up the technical buttress to eventually reach the anchors. 

  Get's shade until about 2:00pm.

Great pocket climbing with hidden jugs everywhere.  With so many choices it's easy to miss a sequence and bump the grade a bit.  Start in front of an oak and climb a bulge to pockets. The second bolt seems high, but isn't so bad once you find the right holds.

Climbers on Mount Lemmon are no stranger to pinnacles and towers. This 200ft freestanding pin, only a few yards from the base of the Butterfly Wall, is markedly different in character to its lower elevation brethren. The east face of Trundle Pinnacle is home to the very best pocket routes in Southern Arizona. The area at the base is also a wonderful place to hang out and enjoy the shade, trees, and views. Please keep human impact to a minimum.
