Tackle the large bulge that has a nice undercling to get to the first bolt. Then find some well-placed handholds up to the crack within a right-facing bulge and some smaller holds to the finish. It is a short route but excellent to start in the 10c field.

by Jason Nelson describes the climb: Climb up to a right-facing flake, then angle right through roofs above. You can also continue to the ledge at 105 feet for a longer 12a/b pitch. From these anchors, there are 3 more pitches above that is Hazy Shade of Winter.

, and continue above on the slab that works into a right-facing corner. The hardest moves are at the bottom of the slab. Easier climbing in the corner above leads to some steep pulling to gain the anchors. Be careful what you grab, particularly at the top, because there's a lot of loose rock.

This route climbs up plentiful small ledges up the lowest angle section of the slabby wall to a large ledge.  Great spot for kids, teaching leading, rappelling, etc.  Toprope as many variations as your imagination will allow.

With mostly big jugs and big moves, this climb is harder than

RWRN

with which it shares anchors. Angle left at the top to do so. Attack the bulge at the finish.

Who says climbing can't be educational? Actually most climbers probably don't know what a dipthong is. (Is it something you might see on the Copacabana?) BONUS: try to come up with a new, independent dipthong for every successful ascent of this line!

This is the first bolted route established on the same band of rock of the main walls, but far to the left.  To the right of the climb, easy scrambling leads up several benches allowing TR access. The terrain steepens to vertical heading left.  The route is right on the transition.

Pitch 1: clip the first bolt to secure the belay above the loose slope. Head straight up past 2 bolts on 5.5-5.6 terrain. The crux is surmounting the overhanging shelf, which is 5.7-5.8 depending on height. The crux could be bypassed at 5.6 or easier by heading right, possibly skipping the crux bolt if needed. 5.6 scrambling past one more bolt leads to the anchor. The route got its name from the two first bolts attempted at this station in the face of an oncoming lightning storm, which did not install successfully (chopping them is planned).  First pitch was started by Mike with help from Aaron, Sam, and Paisley.

Pitch 2: This pitch is short to avoid rope drag and was completed in Aug 2020 by Mike & Logan.  Stem up the hollow above the anchor and angle right and up onto a traversing wrap around the corner past 3 bolts to the anchor.  Just above the start, a Claudius Simond piton was found, indicating prior ascents.  Ironically, the first bolt installed here began spinning when we tried to change out the anchor hardware (chopping planned), requiring the current anchor to be established.  This cemented the route's name.

Who say's climbing can't be educational?  Don't use bad grammar or bad technique to climb this route with!

Left most route (to date) on the rink wall.

"Circular Semantics" starts on the ledge, midway up the wall, on the west face of Rotary Park. It climbs past five bolts up the steep overhanging, orange and blue striped wall. It is best to either scramble up to the ledge via easy climbing, or climb one of the easier routes to a two bolt belay at the start of the route. It is better to belay from the ledge. Belaying from the ground causes many rope drag issues. The climbing is steep, powerful, and short. The anchor is equipped with rappel rings for an easy descent.

Climb a slab that gets steeper as you approach a bulge. Move right around the bulge (crux) and into a crack. Move through the roof to the anchors which are a few feet to the right of the anchors for

Dangling Participle

(5.9+).

As with most of the routes in this section of the wall, this is a short and enjoyable climb to begin lead climbing, learn rapelling, and lead belaying. The route is dirty like the others to its right.

This has some tricky moves at times. Angle to the right at the top to shared anchors with the climb to the right,

Lap Route

. At the top, there's a bulge of rocks to make for an interesting finish.

This ascends a right-leaning crack that can be extended into Division Bell.

This route can be top roped from the same anchors as

Tepid Hummus

with quickdraws. Follow the bolt line with a nice and short haul. The climb is located directly in front of the large tree closest to the corner of the wall.

This is a steep and juggy route that begins by climbing a small ramp that angles right above a spring coming out of the wall. The Ouray Rock Climbing guidebook stated Jason bolted this route on lead, with a self belay, hanging on with one hand and drilling with the other. It is a nice area in the shade.

At the right side of the slabby wall directly across from the restrooms, look for a bolt line just before the rock get overhung.  Climb up and right past a few bulges (crux at upper bulge) on good holds. Don't forget directionals for seconding climbers. From the top anchor, it is possible to top-rope the

San Juan Snake

, a harder (5.10?) overhung line to the right.

Thong Wedgie uses the same anchors as

and has a similar lay of the land. It has a thin move at the top.

Just like the others around it, Left Handed Blunt is a short climb that's great for beginners and learning. It has lots of easily worked ledges and holds. It can be messy with dirt and loose gravel, so be careful of what gets kicked around.

This is the middle of five bolt lines on the slabby wall, both in location and in difficulty. The crux is the lower well-protected bulge, then life gets easier. Be careful with one loose-looking block on the right 15 feet up!
