Start below the left side of the rectangular overlap. Climb up next to the green slime until the right facing shallow inside corner can be reached. Climb the inside corner until the overlap is reached. Continue up the crack and face until below the square rook. Climb past the roof using a crack on the right side. Finish straight to the top.

Start on the left side of the wall below and right of the crack. Climb up to the crack and continue on to the small roof. Move rightly right and surmount the roof and finish above.               

The Left End Routes

 

Start on the right side of the wall right of the overhanging face.  Climb up to the narrow ledge and work up the next vertical section to a lower angle rock.  Finish on easier climbing to the top.               

Right Wall Routes

 

Start on the Left side of the wall right of the overhanging face.  Climb the corner of the block to the small ledge.  Pull the overhanging above the ledge.  Continue up staying close to the left edge of the wall. Finish the lower angle face at the top.

Climb the right edge of the overhanging wall while staying under the overhang. This is an unfinished game we were playing.                

Right Wall Routes

 

Start at the crack 6 feet left of the inside corner. Climb the crack to the 8 inch overlap. Head into the corner.  Continue up the overhung and awkward inside corner.  Layback the Flake to finish.

Start below the middle of the wide 8 inch roof.  Work the face up to, then over, the overlap.  Contribute up the face to the horizontal crack. Continue straight up the face with horizontal and diagonal cracks to the top.

White Rocks is located just outside of the Frederick Municipal Forrest in Cunningham Falls State Park. It is include here because the approach is a flat 10 minute walk from Gambrill Park Rd in the FMF. The hike in from the Manor Area of Cunningham Falls State Park is much longer and not likely to be used as an access method. White rocks generally faces East. Some walls stay shaded and need at least a day to dry after rain. White Rock has a decent overlook with good views and is located along the Catoctin National Recreation Trail. The outcrop is composed of several faces, some are steep and other are ramps and slabs interspersed with ledges.
