This is the best of routes on the lower sector IMO; the first 40 feet are fantastic, then the quality drops a bit but the climbing remains interesting at the grade. Begin climbing an attractive, smooth face (crux) and follow bolts through more broken terrain to a great ledge and chains. Grade is from the Calderone guide.

This is the left and lowest of the three sport routes found on the lower sector of Disciple Ridge. The first bolt is just over a small overhang. The crux comes in the first 20 feet or so, then relatively easier, leftward-tending cruising ends at a belay with three bolts and chains (this is also a belay for the route

Pitch 1) 5.8 R 100’. Not very enjoyable.

Pitch 2) 5.6 R 100’. Awesome views. Pretty cool climbing. But still pretty dirty and loose in sections.

Pitch 3) 5.4 PG/R 200’. Uninspiring.

Located on a small rock, separate from Disciple Ridge. quality face climbing. Too bad it’s so short.

. The Calderone guide rates this flat-out 5.11, but both my partner and I thought it barely 5.10; I’m guessing we either veered off-line or discovered a sequence that alluded the FA party. In any event, don’t let the grade in the Calderone guide keep you from trying the route – it’s worth doing if in the area.

Surprisingly engaging for the difficulty.
