This route follows a crack to a large ledge which you can untie at and solo/scramble to the top of the manure pile.

I'm not sure of this crack has been climbed but when I climbed it I found it worthy of a line with cool moves involving face and crack.

Go up the snake like dike, Traversing along it to the shelf.

This route is located to the left of "Deception" and to the right of the wide chimney that splits the west face of The Manure Pile. Begin on the ledges and climb the left facing flake, then on up to the vertical crack that tops out the route. I've given this route two stars because it's ideal for the novice leader: easy to protect and mixed terrain.

The start and the finish are the highlights. Kinda contrived, but if you climbing the rest of the stuff in ryan may as well do this one too.

Bartlett and Vogel have different starts for this route. I started under the overhang, placed pro high and near the right edge then turned the corner. You'd better be aggressive getting out on the face. Then move straight up. I found all this a bit hair-raising until I could set higher pro. This route is sandbagged in my opinion. I know, what's new it's JT. I'd give it 5.8+. Bartlett has it starting directly off the ground to the right of the overhang. It will go, but the leader will be quite exposed to a serious fall until pro can be placed.

The crux is on the face.  Can top rope it.

Climb the obvious gulley on the west side of Manure Pile. There are interesting moves with a short squeeze chimney at the top. Walkoff unless you are willing to rappel off one bolt.

This route is located on the right end of the west face of The Manure Pile formation. This is a fine route that I've led twice and will lead again. The crux is at the beginning and is height dependent; for me at five nine, it's  around ten b/c. If you're shorter, well, life's unfair. Once over the initial pullup, the climb swings up and to the left with enjoyable climbing all the way.

This route was the first 5.12 in the Park (Monument back then) and is a testament to the skill of the "dime-cranking masters" who freed it.

Four bolts provide excellent protection for this finger-wrecking crimpfest which lies on the north face of the free-standing pillar across the road and west of the Manure Pile proper. The crux is moving past the first bolt, and higher up the route is no more than 5.10 in difficulty. This route can be aided as well but some mandatory free-climbing (5.7) exists near the top.

A historic climb with a cool summit that's inaccessible without climbing are in this route's favor, but the moves are almost too painful to be fun. One star out of five.

Start just left of Tom Bombadil and head up to the bolts. There is an obvious corner arete. Climb up; you can not miss the route.
