Starts with some lesser quality stone which improves as you move up the dihedral. Stemming and face moves protected by bolts.  The crux is where the corner pinches off below a steep headwall. This route features very good movement, especially on the upper section. Despite the somewhat grim sounding route name the protection is good, and a call to the Coroner should in most cases not be necessary if taking on the lead of this route.

Hailstone Crack is believed to be the first route climbed at Hailstone Rock.  But for the approach this climb would be considered a classic crack in an area not known for such. This surprisingly steep route features straight in hands, fist, and some wider sized sections of climbing with some nice edges, stems, and features on the surrounding face.

Lichen covered crack, rarely climbed, so be careful of loose rock.

This route ascends a wide gully on the south buttress of Hailstone Rock.  After clipping the first bolt (shared with Hailstone Arete route) veer off right towards the base of a steep gully Ascend up through  a series of broken tiered ledges to the bolted anchor shared with Hailstone Arete.  A big shout out and thanks to Alex Isabeau, Mojo, and others who discovered and climbed many obscure routes throughout MSH !

Starts off by climbing an exposed bouldery section onto a ledge and a small stemming corner. After clipping a couple of bolts move left out of the corner into a steep section. Here the crux is a sustained series of somewhat ponderous moves up and into a second corner system and a rest. The climbing is sustained and steep above the crux on rock that's very granite-like. The angle eases off before the anchor is reached, near the site of occasional bird encounters.

This is a four bolt variation start of Coroner, about 20 ft right. Pulls an exciting bulge. This variation is called "ETI" (Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) 5.10b PG and shares the finish of "Coroner".

This climb features some steep face climbing at the start before entering and surmounting a strenuous roof. Gain a good stance above the bulge, and with the crux behind you, enjoy a moderate cruise to the anchors.  It's possible to top out on the formation and enjoy the spacious summit plateau from here.

Doppelganger is located on the western arête of "Hole in the Wall" Rock. The climbing starts out by climbing past a couple bolts and moving up a stemming trough which culminates on a ledge.  A steeper section is encountered before clipping the rings at the rim of the formation. A good warm up. Other lines have been top roped here. On the back side of the arch is a 4th class access to the top of Hole in the Wall which is a great spot for a picnic or to take in the views. There are several anchors on the summit set well back from the cliff edge (Bring very long slings.)

This is one of the longer face climbs in the park with a distinct crux just before the anchor. Mark Howe was inspirational in sharing his knowledge of Hailstone and was the first to explore variations of this route in the mid -1990's.

This climb is dedicated to our beloved friend and partner Andrew Berge, a great man of many talents! Keep climbing high above the anchor and we’ll meet you up above the clouds brotha ! RIP 5/13/21... Scramble up and left of the belay on a low-angled ramp before clipping the first bolt in a short corner (25 ft.) The route traverses up and right to a good stance before ascending a vertical face. The finish is a tad bit exciting as you climb above the void, moving carefully to avoid the reverse rocket ride.
